The Symposium Dinner will be held in the evening of Monday, June 19th, on board the newly renovated boat M/S Havsörnen. Departure will be at 19:00 from Västerås harbour. The buffét dinner will be served during a tour of some of the lake Mälaren around Västerås.
The main study visit will be on Wednesday, June 21st. A bus will be provided from Västerås to the town of Ludvika where several major types of HV power equipment are produced. We will visit ABB's transformer factory and hope also to visit the recent UHV testing laboratory.
After the visit, buses will be provided back to Västerås (arriving around 16:00) and on to Arlanda airport (arriving around 17:00).
NORD-IS 17 will be held at the
Aros Congress Center
Munkgatan 7, Västerås, close to the central railway station.
Rooms at a price of 1250 SEK/night have been reserved at Hotel Plaza, very close to the Aros Congress Center. To obtain this price you should book directly with the hotel, before 17th May, using the code "Nord-IS". This is a guaranteed rate for a limited number of places for a limited time: it is not necessarily cheaper than is obtainable for early bookings or through other hotel-booking sites.
Papers at the Symposium present results of recent activities on all topics within its scope, which includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
The Symposium provides an opportunity for researchers, PhD students and engineers working at research institutes, academia, power industry and power utilities to meet, exchange ideas, research results and practical experience on insulating materials, components, models and diagnostic methods, besides related topics such as apparatus and measurement techniques.
The Symposium language is English.
Participants from within and beyond the Nordic countries are welcome.
PhD students and young engineers are particularly encouraged to present their work.
Submitted abstracts and papers undergo a review process. Accepted papers will be included in the proceedings of NORD-IS 17, and made available in an open-access database. Presentation at the Symposium will be either oral or by poster: this choice will be agreed with the authors between the acceptance of abstract and submission of complete paper.
Abstracts were submitted up to 31st January.
The full papers from authors with accepted abstracts should be submitted by 21st April.
Submission is by email to NordIS2017@ee.kth.se.
The submitted file should be in PDF format, up to six pages, A4 size, without page numbers, and with all fonts embedded.
No other format needs to be submitted, but if you have trouble making the PDF you can send another format that we will try to convert and send as PDF for your approval.
Template: the formatting of the papers is described in each of the following files, which can be used as templates for ms-word (and some other word-processors) or latex.
