NORD-IS 17 has already passed: thank you to all who made it a stimulating and enjoyable meeting!
NORD-IS papers will from now on be publicly available in the online Proceedings of the Nordic Insulation Symposium, through NTNU's Open Access Journals service. Papers from the 2015 and 2017 conferences are available so far.
NORD-IS 19 will be held in June 2019, in Finland.
It will be chaired by Kari Lahti (see Organizing Committee, below), and held either in Helsinki or Tampere.

Papers at the Symposium present results of recent activities on all topics within its scope, which includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
The Symposium provides an opportunity for researchers, PhD students and engineers working at research institutes, academia, power industry and power utilities to meet, exchange ideas, research results and practical experience on insulating materials, components, models and diagnostic methods, besides related topics such as apparatus and measurement techniques.
The Symposium language is English.
Participants from within and beyond the Nordic countries are welcome.
PhD students and young engineers are particularly encouraged to present their work.

The invited lecture will be given by Professor Alun Vaughan, University of Southampton.
The Symposium Dinner will be held in the evening of Monday, June 19th, on board the newly renovated boat M/S Havsörnen. Departure will be at 19:00 from Västerås harbour. The buffét dinner will be served during a tour of some of the lake Mälaren around Västerås.
The main study visit will be on Wednesday, June 21st. A bus will be provided from Västerås to the town of Ludvika where several major types of HV power equipment are produced. We will visit ABB's transformer factory and hope also to visit the recent UHV testing laboratory.
After the visit, buses will be provided back to Västerås (arriving around 16:00) and on to Arlanda airport (arriving around 17:00).
NORD-IS 17 will be held at the Aros Congress Center at Munkgatan 7, Västerås, close to the central railway station.
The suggested hotel is Hotel Plaza, very close to the Aros Congress Center.
There is a bus directly between Arlanda airport and Västerås centre, Flygbuss Västerås-Arlanda.
The airport train Arlanda Express or airport bus Flygbussarna can take you from Arlanda airport to Stockholm's central station. The bus also serves the other Stockholm airports.

The symposium fee is 4400 SEK. (Early registration at 3900 SEK finished on 15th May.)
